Graham Spindler
Graham joined with Bill Orme and others in 1999 working on the North Sydney Circle walks (first edition 2002).
This group came together with other experienced walkers to form The Walking Volunteers in 2004.
Originally a secondary teacher, Graham held various education roles before becoming Education Manager at the Parliament of NSW, retiring in 2011. He has a long-standing interest in history and heritage, has written four print books and many brochures on walking Sydney, and has designed and led many community walks.
He worked with others on the various editions of the ‘Harbour Circle Walk’ and the ‘Harbour Bridge to South Head and Clovelly’ brochures. Graham was a participant in the inaugural Great West Walk (2019).
Currently he plays music in various groups, gives talks to U3A and other bodies on a range of topics, is involved in several community organisations, and walks not nearly as often as he should.
