Day Walks around Sydney

Great Southern Circuit

This circuit of southern Sydney takes you along Cooks River with its rejuvenated parkland and the extraordinary Lower Prospect Canal to Prospect Reservoir then down the little-known Devils Back Ridge with its wonderful views and re-generated bushland before winding across the parks of Liverpool to the Georges River and the seldom-seen Georges River National Park. The walks below cover some of the high points of this wonderful walk.

Great West Walk

The walks below are highlights from this walking route from Parramatta to Penrith on the Nepean River via the green links of Western Sydney’s creeks and rivers then on to Katoomba through the villages and bushland of the Blue Mountains. Sydney’s indigenous and colonial history is ever-present and the Great West walk provides walkers with a totally different and unexpected view of Western Sydney from colonial mansions to exotic gardens and she-oak shaded strolls along cool waterways.

Hills Circle

This four day stroll takes you along many of the tree-filled gullies of the Hills district and below is a selection from this beautiful part of Sydney that marries unspoiled bushland with intriguing glimpses of our brutal colonial past.

Sydney Harbour & Coast Walk

This walking route take you along Sydney’s spectacular coastline from Barrenjoey at the mouth of the Hawkesbury River past golden beaches and stunning lookouts to North Head. It then heads west along the dramatic headlands of Sydney Harbour to Parramatta with its wonderful colonial history before returning along the fascinating southern shore of the Harbour to more spectacular coastal scenery from South Head to Botany Bay & Cronulla.
