From Kissing Point Wharf walk west through the park to cross into Douglas St. Cross Cleves Park into Watson St to the Bennelong Memorial. At the end of Watson St, return to the river path and follow it, under the Ryde Road Bridges, to Meadowbank Wharf. Head north up the steps to the ramp and walkway across the John Whitton Railway Bridge. The Bridge walkway ends at Blaxland Rd which leads to Rhodes Railway Station and Concord Road. Cross into Brays Bay Park. Follow the signposted Kokoda Track Memorial Pathway almost to the gate into Concord Hospital carpark. Turn left, between mangroves and fence on the Concord Foreshore Trail and continue around Rivendell and Yaralla peninsulas to Majors Bay Reserve and Deakin Street. Then follow streets and occasional foreshore paths to Hilly Street. At the punt, follow a waterfront boardwalk to Wangal Bushland Reserve. Return along Hilly St to Palace Lane and the Breakfast Point waterfront walk. This walkway leads around the shore to Cabarita Park and Wharf.
Much of the walk - River and mangroves, parkland - is packed with heritage features. These include Kissing Point itself; Bennelong’s grave and memorial; shipbuilding sites; the John Whitton Bridge; Kokoda Track Memorial; the 1890s buildings of the former Thomas Walker Convalescent Hospital (now Rivendell Adolescent Unit); Concord Hospital (former WWII Military Hospital); Yaralla - the former estate of the Walker Family, with historic buildings, gardens and paddocks; Sydney’s last city punt; Mortlake Gasworks (with some remnant buildings); and Cabarita Park’s Federation Pavilion.
