About the Walking Track

"From Glenbrook Station follow Burfitt Parade to steps up to Grey Street. More street walking takes you to the lookouts around the Bluff before following the Tramway Track across Darkes Common to wander down to the 1892 tunnel. Head north to the underpass under the Great Western Highway and down Knapsack Street to the Zig-Zag Track to Knapsack Viaduct and Mitchells Pass. A short scramble takes you to Bunyarra Drive and Reserve before a short street walk to Emu Plains cemetery and historic St Pauls Church. Another street walk takes you to the Great Western Highway past the pioneer school, homes and inns to Emu Plains Station.

Public Transport

Blue Mountains train from Central to Glenbrook Station. Return by same train from Emu Plains Station. There is also a 689 bus from Walkers Crescent near the end of Knapsack Reserve to Emu Plains Station and this reduces the walk to 7.8 kilometres. A trip planner is available from Transport NSW web site.
