About the Walking Track

A street walk from Liverpool Station takes you over Georges River to Haigh Park, where you then follow the shared path along the river to Chauvel Park and Epsom Road. Another street walk takes you to South Park where the shared path runs to the bushland south of Heron Park. Here a welcome bush track takes you through the woodland to the lotus pond Riverside Road. A short stroll along Alfred Street takes you to the 903 bus stop.

The parklands and lakes of Chipping Norton were landscaped from the pock-marked holes and pools of indiscriminate sand mining in the 1950s and now provide an oasis for picnickers. Walkers, joggers and cyclists use its paths while sailboats speed across its lakes and its islands have become a refuge for fifty species of waterbirds.
