About the Walking Track
Short walk from the bus stop in Northern Road to Castle Hill Heritage Park to follow shared path through the park to Ballintore Drive and Banks Cottage. A street walk over the urban ridge to a continuous corridor of excellent urban bushland along Citadel Creek and Cattai Creek to Fred Caterson Reserve. Through Caterson Reserve and under Showground Road into Castle Hill Showground and Showground Metro station.
Castle Hill Heritage Park takes you back to the convict days while Banks Cottage is another reminder of the past. Caterson Reserve is another remnant of the Castle Hill Government farm while the Showground retains it links with Castle Hill’s pastoral past.
Public Transport
T1 train from Central Station to Epping Station. Metro North West from Epping Station to Castle Hill Station and the 603, 637, 638 or 639 bus from Stand A to Northern Road before Gilbert Road. Return via the Showground Metro Station to Epping Station and Central Station. A trip planner is available from Transport NSW web site.
